One of the most charming heroes of the late ’90s is making his return. Croc Legend of the Gobbos Platinum Edition and Croc 2 Kingdom of the Gobbos are coming physically to PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2, with the Nintendo Switch 2 editions also playable on Nintendo Switch.
First up is Croc Legend of the Gobbos Platinum Edition, arriving this winter, with Croc’s second adventure to follow.
Croc: Legend of the Gobbos Platinum Edition will be released as a Speed Run: games will only be offered once they’re in stock and ready to ship the same day. There will be no pre-order phase, so customers won’t face any additional waiting time.

Originally released in 1997 for PlayStation, Sega Saturn and Windows, Croc Legend of the Gobbos helped define the early era of 3D platforming.
The adventure begins when a baby crocodile arrives in Gobbo Valley and is adopted by King Rufus and the furry Gobbos. Years later, the evil Baron Dante and his Dantini army invade the valley, capture the Gobbos and imprison King Rufus. It’s up to Croc to rescue his family and defeat Dante.
Players control Croc through 45 levels across five colourful worlds, running, jumping, climbing, swimming and tail-spinning through 3D environments filled with enemies, platforming challenges, collectibles, secrets and captured Gobbos.
The Definitive Croc Experience
Croc Legend of the Gobbos Platinum Edition keeps the original adventure intact while bringing it up to date with enhanced HD graphics, modern controls, an updated camera and retro video modes.
The Platinum Edition adds even more, including Time Attack mode, 16 additional trophies and achievements, more than 25 new Crocipedia entries, selectable mixes of the Croc main theme, and further quality-of-life improvements.
The Crocipedia is a highlight for longtime fans, providing a digital museum packed with concept art, design documents, animation tests, pre-release soundtrack mixes, documentary interviews and other material from the game’s development.
Croc’s Adventure Gets Bigger
Originally released in 1999 for PlayStation and Windows, with a Game Boy version also released, Croc 2 takes place several months after the first adventure and expands its predecessor’s formula with more open-ended levels and mission-based gameplay.
After discovering a mysterious message in a bottle bearing a crocodile footprint, Croc realizes there may be others like him. His search takes him beyond Gobbo Valley to the distant Mainland, where he hopes to uncover the truth about his origins.
But there’s another problem: Baron Dante has been resurrected.
Croc travels between four distinctive Gobbo villages, completing missions, helping their inhabitants, rescuing captured Gobbos and facing new enemies and Guardians. The sequel retains the colourful platforming of the original while introducing a broader world and a more varied adventure.
The modern release also introduces the Croc2pedia, offering an extensive behind-the-scenes look at the creation of Croc’s second journey.

Croc in Europe: No Pre-Order, No Waiting
Strictly Limited is well aware that Croc fans in the US waited longer for the physical release of Croc Legend of the Gobbos than they had hoped for, with little clarity on progress or shipping dates. While we can relate to how complex game development and publishing get at times and how challenging it is to make sure updates are both frequent and reliable. But we know that is little comfort when you’re the one waiting, and we truly feel how frustrating these delays have been.
Our customers have faced similar delays in the past: before 2024, we had to deal with extended pre-order periods, which we could only overcome by massively reworking our processes and introducing new strategies. We are still catching up on a few remaining legacy products, and we know some of you are still waiting. We can’t deliver them overnight, but we are committed to catching up in a sustainable way while continuing to release new games.
To offer more than words, one of our most important changes for projects exclusively published under the Strictly Limited label is simple and customer-friendly. These titles are now released as a Speed Run: games go on sale only when they’re in stock and ship immediately when ordered. There is no pre-order and no additional waiting time.
While the physical European edition of Croc Legend of the Gobbos Platinum Edition for PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2 is co-published with Argonaut Games, it will follow the same approach. There will be no pre-order for Croc. We’re working to complete production as soon as possible, so the game can be purchased for immediate shipping in early 2027.
We’re currently aiming for a February release, with the exact date to be confirmed. Subscribe to our newsletter, follow us on social media, or check our Product Availability Updates to find out as soon as Croc goes on sale.
