One of the most charming heroes of the late ’90s is making his return. Croc Legend of the Gobbos Platinum Edition and Croc 2 Kingdom of the Gobbos are coming physically to PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2, with the Nintendo Switch 2 editions also playable on Nintendo Switch.
First up is Croc Legend of the Gobbos Platinum Edition, arriving this winter, with Croc’s second adventure to follow.

Originally released in 1997 for PlayStation, Sega Saturn and Windows, Croc Legend of the Gobbos helped define the early era of 3D platforming.
The adventure begins when a baby crocodile arrives in Gobbo Valley and is adopted by King Rufus and the furry Gobbos. Years later, the evil Baron Dante and his Dantini army invade the valley, capture the Gobbos and imprison King Rufus. It’s up to Croc to rescue his family and defeat Dante.
Players control Croc through 45 levels across five colourful worlds, running, jumping, climbing, swimming and tail-spinning through 3D environments filled with enemies, platforming challenges, collectibles, secrets and captured Gobbos.
The Definitive Croc Experience
Croc Legend of the Gobbos Platinum Edition keeps the original adventure intact while bringing it up to date with enhanced HD graphics, modern controls, an updated camera and retro video modes.
The Platinum Edition adds even more, including Time Attack mode, 16 additional trophies and achievements, more than 25 new Crocipedia entries, selectable mixes of the Croc main theme, and further quality-of-life improvements.
The Crocipedia is a highlight for longtime fans, providing a digital museum packed with concept art, design documents, animation tests, pre-release soundtrack mixes, documentary interviews and other material from the game’s development.
Croc’s Adventure Gets Bigger
Originally released in 1999 for PlayStation and Windows, with a Game Boy version also released, Croc 2 takes place several months after the first adventure and expands its predecessor’s formula with more open-ended levels and mission-based gameplay.
After discovering a mysterious message in a bottle bearing a crocodile footprint, Croc realizes there may be others like him. His search takes him beyond Gobbo Valley to the distant Mainland, where he hopes to uncover the truth about his origins.
But there’s another problem: Baron Dante has been resurrected.
Croc travels between four distinctive Gobbo villages, completing missions, helping their inhabitants, rescuing captured Gobbos and facing new enemies and Guardians. The sequel retains the colourful platforming of the original while introducing a broader world and a more varied adventure.
The modern release also introduces the Croc2pedia, offering an extensive behind-the-scenes look at the creation of Croc’s second journey.
