Save earth from an evil alien & a zombie invasion as the ghost of a samurai!
Originally released in Japan (1990 as Abarenbo Tengu) and in the US (1991 as Zombie Nation) for Famicon System / NES, this release combines both versions in an all-action shoot ‘em up blaster. On the one hand Zombie Nation, where the player controls a giant levitating & disembodied samurai head and on the other hand Abarenbo Tengu, where the player controls a giant floating Tengu mask.
The year is 1999 and an evil alien entity known as "Darc Seed" crashes in the Nevada desert. Darc Seed then turns the people of the United States into wraiths (Abarenbo Tengu) or zombies (Zombie Nation). As either character –Tengu mask or samurai head - the player heads to the US to save the American people, fighting hordes of enemies and various bosses, even including a possessed version of the statue of liberty!
Apart from plenty diverse enemies, the player can also destroy structures with rapidly-fired eyeballs and other unusual projectiles. Starting every level with a full health bar of eight units, it will soon decrease when hit, resulting in a real do-or-die scenario. This new version for Nintendo Switch further incorporates quality-of-life features such as rewind and quick save & load functions, rapid fire and new HUD elements. But in an extra mode, players can also choose to play the original versions. Additionally, there are new achievements and a gallery to unlock.
